Position Details

Exult Engineering is seeking our next roadway engineering team member who is passionate about what they do and are excited about being part of a growing firm. This position would have the following responsibilities:

  • Each day you will work with a team of designers and engineers to create drawings and simulations using Bentley software products and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals.
  • You will also use your experience to mentor others in the development of projects utilizing best practices for Bentley software products; promoting the reputation of the company and increasing business by being widely recognized outside the company as a technical expert.
  • Assist in delivering design documents using OpenRoads. We anticipate that this position will manage our internal CAD standards, use, training, and implementation. However, due to the size of our firm, we anticipate that the individual that fills this position will spend the majority of their time in project production as well.
  • Implementing CAD standards and familiarity of workspaces related to Department of Transportations (DOT) and municipal clients.
  • Responsibilities include providing oversight of our software configurations and tools related to Bentley platforms (MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, Concept Station, SYNCHRO, and ProjectWise Administration).
  • Assist managing Exult’s Bentley and AutoCAD accounts, tracking issuance/usage of Bentley/AutoCAD licenses, and make recommendations on how to appropriately budget/manage the account.
  • Act as a liaison with IT and project staff to ensure functional and efficient hardware and software configuration for design staff.
  • Provide CADD Leadership and production support for project teams, including leading design efforts in CAD, resolving CAD related challenges on projects, file exports and client deliverable coordination
  • Recommend, schedule, and manage Exult’s Bentley training program including in-house and external trainings
  • Help train and mentor technical staff on procedures and project file setup.
  • Join professional organizations in an active manner to help serve the industry.

  • Exemplary Microstation skills are a must. OpenRoads experience is a plus. Some limited experience in AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and/or ArcGIS is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in hydraulic analysis and floodplain modeling would be beneficial but not required.

  • Design and modeling of all aspects of roadway and greenway design, including horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, cross sections, traffic management plans, erosion control, utility coordination, drainage design, pavement marking and signing, and all other elements associated with a comprehensive roadway/greenway design.
  • Serve as a supervisor to staff, providing mentorship, training, and delegation of tasks.
  • Build experience in roadway task and project management with the goal of managing projects within 1-2 years.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and review agencies.
  • Join a professional organization and become actively involved to help serve the industry.
  • Develop relationships within the industry to support future business development.
